A unique exhibition of selected works from the Wonderland series at the beautiful Swedish castle Läckö Slott . The exhibition produced by UpOnWalls will include outdoor displays and fine art prints presented inside the original 15th century rooms. For the first time ever, some of the Wonderland costumes will also be on display, as well the premiere of two large scale pieces from Kirsty’s new series ‘Quiescence’

Picture This Gallery , one of Scandinavia’s largest galleries for photo art will be presenting selected works from the Wonderland series in Stockholm, Sweden.

In December 2018, the first major museum show of the entire Wonderland series (all 74 photographs) opened at Fotografiska in Stockholm – one of the worlds most important museums of contemporary photography. It received record breaking audience numbers for the museum, becoming one of it’s most popular in it’s history.
The exhibition went on to tour Fotografiska’s sister venue in Estonia and was due to open in New York during the summer of 2020. Unfortunately the Pandemic caused the show to be delayed, the new dates are currently yet to be confirmed.

”Absolute devotion is shown in an enchanting and colorful fantasy world of photographs. Visiting Kirsty Mitchell's fairy-tale "Wonderland" in the exhibition at Fotografiska Museum in Stockholm, cannot be described in any other way than as a really hallelujah moment. The eyes wander over detailed photographs where people are portrayed as strong, suggestive beings. Nature captivates the viewer with its magic and the texts for the photographs evoke thoughts about what we do with our lives. That such strong emotions can be produced through a camera lens makes me feel great wonder about the impact of culture on us people. Yes, even wonder about life in itself. I guess what the exhibition does to me, and thousands of other people who visit it, is what art and culture does when it is at it's best.

The show consisted of 19 of some of the most iconic images in the series at thier largest sizes, including 6 huge pieces at 2 meters high.
The show was proudly sponsored by Nikon UK.
